A number of resources and research documents have guided Brilliant Thing’s ideas around culture-making. Heres a round up!

  1. A super-useful resource here from Korn Ferry sharing how Diverse and inclusive teams are better at solving complex problems and make better decisions 87% of the time. Future of work trends 2022: A new era of humanity

  2. Breathe’s People First Culture Series and the Culture Economy Report 2021 outline attitudes to company culture and how this affects productivity, performance and wellbeing. My sister Faye works for Breathe and they walk the talk too with an excellent culture!

  3. NOUS magazine is a Manchester based publication dedicated to conversations about mental illness. Their aim is to promote open-mindedness in society and help remove the prejudice following people affected. The Work Issue explores personal struggle, social identity and dreams and is well worth a read.

  4. This blog from Fearless Culture shares some of the best tools and case studies for designing culture change

  5. Rebel Ideas by Matthew Syed is a fab introduction to the importance of cognitive diversity at work

  6. Representation matters. In the artworld these 10 Artists are promoting diversity through portraiture and reclaiming the portrait to uncover the true complexities of identity. This approach encourages us to think about who represents our work and how visible and documented the range of people we work with are.

  7. The British Design Council published this article Designing for Diversity which encourages thinking through how we design our spaces, projects and work as well as products and services.
